Logitech K400 vs K400+

Back in 2011, I purchased the Logitech K400 keyboard for my living room PC, which is connected to the TV. I used this to watch Netflix and Youtube. The K400 is a fantastic keyboard for a media PC like this, as it combines a touchpad and a keyboard in a single lightweight unit. When you're lounging about on your sofa, the last thing you want is to have two peripherals to deal with, nor have to fumble to have a suitable surface to run a mouse on. I've found this keyboard so useful that I've b...

The End Of The Road ...

Well it looks like the Note 7 has reached the end of it's short but eventful Journey ... https://www.lowyat.net/2016/116293/samsung-freezes-sales-and-exchange-program-of-galaxy-note-7/ "A Samsung Malaysia representative has stated that all pre-order customers will be contacted personally to address the situation. A call to the Samsung Premium Careline also revealed that the company may share more details on its Facebook page. However, given that the device was never actually launched ...

Exchanged My Note 7 for the new Note 7 NEO (Non-Exploding Option) Today

It's finally the 29th of September. I dropped by the Samsung Store at The Curve and got my Note 7 exchanged. Apparently they had an appointment system going on to reduce waiting times -- but since i missed their call yesterday I wasn't aware of it. Only one customer in the store when I was there around 3pm so they processed my exchange anyway. This shop wanted all the accessories back. There are reports that some other Samsung Stores just took the phone and box back, so I guess I was unfor...

My Dead Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet Resurrected!

Regular readers (all three of them) will remember that I once had a Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet, and all was well. Then one day, thanks to a crazy taxi driver causing me to swerve suddenly, the tablet fell from the passenger seat of my car into the footwell. It was only a 1 foot drop, but the screen went all funny. And the backlight in the one of the corners went wonky. It was no longer usable. I asked around and most shops said the LCD needs to be replaced, and being a 10" LCD it was m...

Note 7 Russian Roulette

Got a call from Samsung Marketing rep on Wednesday confirming the recall and letting me know the replacement will be ready for collection on the 29th from the same place I got my Note 7 from. At the risk of sounding like a fanboy I must say they seem to be handling this relatively well. Online Collective Panic aside, Samsung HQ announced the recall on Friday, 2nd September, and Samsung Malaysia sorted out their replacement plans within 2 working days. Yes, the "Customers may contact Samsung...

News: Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Replacement in Malaysia Begins 29 September

So in addition to the earlier discount and free gifts with the pre-order, I also get a free tempered glass screen protector and 1 year screen crack protection ... not bad. I would've liked the warranty extended to two years as well but I guess can't be too picky. Hopefully phone behaves itself until the 29th. https://www.lowyat.net/2016/113577/samsung-galaxy-note-7-replacement-in-malaysia-begins-29-september/

The Thing With Buying A New Phone ...

New Toy : Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Yes, I've said it many times ... "my Note 3 is good enough" "If my Note 3 ever dies I'll just go find another Note 3" "I hardly use the S-Pen, for my next phone a Xiaomi will do" So how did I end up with this then? Well my Note 3 has been acting up recently. In the last year or so, the camera has occasionally been unable to focus, with wavy lines in the picture. The problem comes and goes, but I it has ruined a number of otherwise perfect pictures. I could probably replace the camer...

Replacement Toy : Galaxy Tab S (Yeah, not an S2!)

With my Note 10.1 2014 tablet dead (https://plus.google.com/u/0/+shahadaabubakar/posts/imYAqV8kUxQ), it was time to get a replacement. I didn't want a 4:3 ratio screen (rules out any iPad and the upcoming Tab S2), I like the retina-beating 2560x1600 resolution on my old tablet, and I love the Super AMOLED screen on my Note 3. So, despite it being a year old model, I decided to get the Tab S. It's the closest spec to my Note 10.1 2014, sans S-Pen, which I can live without. The only problem i...

My Note 10.1 2014 Edition Died-ed ...

So there I was minding my own business driving down the NKVE and getting off at the Damansara exit when suddenly -- together with two cars in front of me -- I had to slam on the brakes and swerve out of the way of a taxi, who having made it all the way to the apex of the curve, realized he had taken the wrong exit, was trying to reverse back out on to the highway. Accident averted, I did the usual cursing and then quietly went on my way. At my destination, I reached for my tablet as I was ge...
