20-30 years ago a new album launch would mean waiting for the local music store to stock it, checking every few days (there was a time when we were months behind on international releases) ... waiting for it to come on the radio (the DJ's often would import stuff themselves) ... the thrill of finally seeing the album in the store ... choosing the cassette/disc towards the back so that it was the least handled and less scratched ... buying it followed by the unwrapping and relishing over cover and notes on the way home ... with all the excitement building up to the first listening session.

Now it's a case of seeing the announcement of album launch on facebook ... launch Spotify ... click-click-click ... and am listening to it.
