Just watched Star Trek: Into Darkness in Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara

Just watched Star Trek: Into Darkness in Cineleisure, Mutiara Damansara.I went in without reading any of the reviews or knowing anything about the storyline at all, and so didn’t know what to expect at all. Benedict Cumberbatch (who I really liked in BBC’s Sherlock) excelled at playing the  bad-guy terrorist John Harisson … cold and calculative … and I loved the part when he finally revealed his real name. Waves of nostalgia!

Fans of the old star trek will love these moments.

I’m not quite ready to say that this reboot series is “_My_ Star Trek”; I’m still too attached to Voyager and Deep Space 9 and Enterprise for them to be now treated as “never happened” (thought technically Enterprise is still part of the “rebooted” timeline). But if it was a straight Old Star Trek movies vs Rebooted Star Trek movies comparison then I’m all for the reboot.

A few other things I loved about this movie:
* The beautiful space scenery. Almost makes me wish I was born a few generations in the future so as to be able to experience it first hand.
* The new “warp trails” that the ships leave behind.
* The reversed kirk-spock death from radiation scene.
